Unlike standard alumina-based refractories, which react and erode quickly under the chemical attack of calcium and basic slags, the basic MgO structure of Magnesia Carbon plates provides superior chemical corrosion resistance. This makes them ideal for casting clean steels where slag and steel chemistry are highly basic.
